Royksopp's "Remind Me"

Royksopp (or Røyksopp) is one of my favorite electronic music duos. They’re based in Bergen, Norway and have been formed since 1998. But it wasn’t until 2002 that they released their debut album Melody AM. The song "Remind Me” is the first single for the album (you might recognize the song from one of those Geico "so easy, even a caveman can do it" TV commercials).

The song became very popular in dance clubs and lounges around the world, but it became mostly famous for its impressive music video packed with a large set of info graphics that link to each other and animate in between, indicating that data visualization is everywhere in today's society.

The animated video was directed by the French motion graphics studio H5. It features a day in the life of a working woman, and how everything that she encounters is a system of its own, and interestingly links back to her. It demonstrates labeled objects of everyday use, product lifecycles, schematic diagrams, charts, pies, and is generally illustrated in a simple visual style. As an architect, It’s fascinating for me to watch…. Enjoy!
