My Mother's Key Word Problems

My mom always has this problem of not remembering the key/most important word in a conversation. For example, one day she had a doctor’s visit and, that same night, I called her up to see how everything went.

So we had the following conversation:
Me: "Hi, mom! How was your doctor’s visit?"
Mom: "Oh, it was good. Nothing major… he said that the pain in my hips is caused by something about, uh… what is it?... I don’t know…"
Me: "Did he give you a final diagnosis, mom?"
Mom: "Yes, he did. He said I have something like…um… It has a weird name."
Me: "Okay, mom. The important thing is that is nothing serious."

Here’s another example:
Mom: "Did you know that Samira is going on vacation next week? She’s going out of the country."
Me: "Oh, really? Where’s she traveling to?"
Mom: "I don’t know. She mentioned the name… somewhere far."

I had this conversation with my mom last December:
Mom: "Oh, I forgot to tell you, Maria’s daughter came down to Miami last month for some thing.”
Me: "What thing?"
Mom: "I don’t know… some kind of event. It’s got some explosive name."
Me: "The Bang Music Festival?"
Mom: "No, no…I don’t think so. It was like in a park or something… where they had the Cirque du Soleil.”
Me: "Are you sure it’s not the Bang Music Festival? It was at the Bicentennial Park…"
Mom: "No, no! The name is more explosive-sounding. What was it…hmm"
Me: [five seconds of silence] "Bang Music Festival?"
Mom: "Yes! That’s it!"
