A Very Cool And Unusual Dental Clinic

You don’t see dental offices like this the US… well, at least I have never seen anything close to it. This is the Minami-Nagano Dental Clinic & Residence, designed by Japanese architect Hiroki Tanabe, and located in the suburbs of Nagano, Japan. The project is a combination of a dental clinic and dentist residences (as odd as it sounds), situated in a farm village.

According to the architect’s website, the structure was made of a thick concrete plate forming a zigzag structure, which makes up three shells and two open courtyards. Each shell has a different role inside: residence, clinic and waiting lounge, all connected through the courtyards by two glass boxes used as pathways and entry halls. Once inside the linking glass boxes, you can see the sun or the rain falling above your head.
